Company History

The Rural Bank of Dolores [Quezon], Inc. was organized in 1976 in Dolores, Quezon by a group of enterprising businessmen namely – Atty. Abelardo  R. Pajarillo ,Judge Albino  A. Amat, Col.Ramon V. Delfin ,Judge Demetrio C. Castillo , Mr. Marcos  M. Laisa ,Mr. Pedro A.  Ventocilla , Mr. Jose A. Amat ,Mrs. Natalia A. Ventocilla and Engr. Honorato A. Capino.

 

At that time ,there were only 362 rural banks in the country as oppose today which is over one thousand .From all reports received ,the business of rural banking is profitable and is big factor in contributing to the progress of the community  wherein it operates .

 

The corporation  was duly organized and registered with Securities and Exchange Commission with an authorized capital stock of  Five Hundred Thousand Pesos P500,000.00 divided into Two Thousand Five Hundred 2,500 shares of Common Stock and Two Thousand  Five Hundred shares 2,500 shares of Preferred Stock ,Both at a par value of One Hundred Pesos P100.00  .The initial paid up capital of the corporation is One Hundred Thousand Pesos P100,000.00

 

The incorporation papers were submitted to the Central  Bank of The Philippines  now  Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas  or BSP on May 22, 1967.It was decided that Atty.Pedro R. Roxas would act as President and Chairman Of The Board ,Judge Albino A. Amat as the Vice President and Vice Chairman , Judge Demeterio C. Castillo as General Manager ,Ma. Sagrario P. Delfin as acting    Treasurer  and Teresita  R. Pajarillo as acting Secretary.

 

On August 22, 1967 ,a special meeting of Board Of Directors was called to decide on the purchase of a property and the cost and construction of the Bank’s Building at its present site was initiated and was completed in two  and half months.

 

On October of the same year , its application was approved by the Central Bank now BSP. Upon its approval ,the 363rd rural bank in the country came into existence .On the 21st of the same month ,a meeting was called by the chairman with Mrs. Elisa C. Magkawas , as secretary pro tem,to record the minutes . In this meeting ,the election of officers was made as follows Atty. Pedro R. Roxas ,President, Mrs. Teresita R. Pajarillo, Vice President, ,Mrs.  Ma. Sagrario P. Delfin , Treasurer, Ms. Teresita R. Liwag, Assistant General Manager and Ms. Elisa C. Magkawas  as Secretary.

 

On November 4, 1967 ,The Rural Bank of Dolores Quezon , Inc. was granted the Certificate of Authority to Operate by the Central Bank Department of Rural Bank Department of Rural Bank Director, Mr. Honesto O. Francisco .And on November 7, 1967 the bank opened its doors to the people of Dolores, Quezon.

 

Through the years of its successful operation , the bank management passed through several hands .Listed below are the names of the members of the board who has a hand in its progress and date covered by their management.

 

Within these years of operation , two branches have been established . The first branch was established in Tiaong Quezon . The Tiaong Branch received the Certificate Of Authority to Operate from the Central Bank now BSP on March 22, 1982 and opened on March 29 of the same year

 

The second branch was established in Alaminos, Laguna .The Certificate of Authority to Operate was received from the Central Bank now BSP on October 15, 1990 and on October 22, it opened for business to the residents of Laguna.

 

The Rural Bank of Dolores Quezon Inc. has been considered by the Bangko Sentral Standard as of those ‘’Big Rural Banks’’ since its total assets has increased to over Six Hundred Million Pesos P600,000,000.00 as of 2014 . The Bank was also one of the recipients of the ‘’Rural Bank Of The Year’’ award from the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines.

 

In 2004 and 2006 ,the Bank has been awarded a certification of recognition by the Bureau of Internal Revenue RDO 60 as one of the region’s large taxpayers.
